2024-12-16The Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills has been officially launched at Cambodia's Stung Tatay Hydropower Station. This initiative is a collaboration between China National Heavy Machinery Corporation Stung Tatay Hydropower — a subsidiary of Sinomach Heavy Equipment Group Co (SINOMACH-HE) — the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, and North China Electric Power University. Designed as a "Chinese + Vocational Skills" program, the center aims to train high-level technical talent in Cambodia while fostering closer ties and cultural exchanges between the two nations.

In one of the first training sessions, Chinese and Cambodian employees at the hydropower station engaged in a study led by a professor from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at North China Electric Power University. The session covered essential knowledge of power systems, including their basic composition and functions, operational requirements, network structures, power lines, and the key equipment used in hydropower stations.
The training emphasized practical applications and knowledge system construction, earning widespread praise. Cambodian participants said the training deepened their understanding of power systems and provided valuable expertise in hydropower operations, helping them address real-world challenges and improve their work efficiency.

The Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills will offer courses in vocational skills, the Chinese language, and Chinese culture. This initiative supports Cambodia's development of multi-skilled professionals and serves as a platform for high-quality collaboration under the "Belt and Road" framework. China National Heavy Machinery Corporation and North China Electric Power University plan to deepen their cooperation in personnel training, scientific research, and cultural exchanges, driving advancements in Cambodia's energy and power sectors.
Led by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, the Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills are joint ventures between overseas enterprises, universities and vocational institutions. They aim to integrate international Chinese education with vocational training, creating a global development model of "Chinese + Vocational Skills". This initiative strengthens cross-cultural exchanges and enhances vocational skills training worldwide.
